General Finishes introduces a revolutionary water-based Pre-Cat Lacquer wood finish that utilizes cutting-edge technology in the manufacturing process of polymers. This innovative formula creates smaller and smoother polymer particles, resulting in significantly enhanced film clarity. Furthermore, this lacquer boasts superior chemical resistance, water resistance, and resistance to yellowing when compared to competitors, whether they are waterborne or solvent-based.

It is important to note that applying clear topcoats over bright white paint may lead to yellowing, as a reaction with the substrate can occur. While light-colored paints may also experience yellowing from topcoat application, it will be less noticeable.

The Water White formulation in the can ensures that the finish dries clear and does not amber over time. This water-based lacquer is designed for interior use only and is a self-crosslinking acrylic product.

For application, it is recommended to use a spray gun or HVLP with a 1.1mm to 1.3mm tip size. The dry time for touch is approximately 10 minutes, while the recoat time is approximately 1 hour or more.
