General Finishes water-based stains are similar to oil-based stains in that they offer plenty of open time and have a thicker consistency for better control over penetration, which helps reduce blotching on softer woods. These stains can be used on any bare wood or stripped surface to achieve beautiful clear wood tones. Cleanup is easy with just soap and water, and the stains come in 16 different wood tone colors.

The wiping formula is suitable for both brushing and spraying application methods, making it versatile for different projects. It contains a proprietary blend of pigments and metal complex dyes that provide depth and clarity to the final finish. These stains are designed for interior use only.

For optimal results, it is recommended to use Accuspray HVLP atomizing sets with a .043 to .051 tip and nozzle, along with a No. 9 air cap. The VOC content is less than 100 g/l (.83 lbs/gal), excluding water, making it a low-VOC option for environmentally conscious individuals.
